Random act of kindness

I have been living in a small town of WV for the past 1.5 years. This town is probably the most redneck city in WV, but unexpectedly I have encountered most generous, kindhearted people here.
Route 60 is a fast speed, heavy traffic main road. Sometimes I see a local farmer selling fruits and vegetables, but by the time it comes in my view, the traffic is so fast behind me that I am unable to stop even if I want to. It was raining today and traffic was unusually slow so I was finally able to pull over. I took my wallet, got out of the car and walked to the cart and said hello to an old guy behind the cart. I love locally grown fruits and vegetables. I picked a bung of vegetable and then noticed I didn't have cash. I said, oh no, I don't have any cash and started walking back to the car. The old guy called me and said what do you need? I said, do you accept credit card because I don't have cash. He said "no, but whatever you need, take it". I was surprisingly shocked. Who does that? This white, hillbilly old guy is asking a brown, complete stranger to take whatever she needs. I hesitantly said, I will take a few tomatoes only. He gave me a box full of fresh, red tomatoes, smilingly.
Honestly, I didn't expect this at all. Good people are everywhere. You just need to act selflessly and expect nothing in return and you will get goodness in return sooner or later , in one farm or another.
